Job Summary
The Science Teacher – Primary Level is responsible for delivering engaging, inquiry-based Science instruction aligned with the Cambridge Primary Science Curriculum. The role focuses on nurturing curiosity, observation skills, and foundational scientific understanding through hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences in a safe and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning
- Plan and deliver interactive Science lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary Science framework.
- Develop students’ understanding of basic scientific concepts, skills, and scientific vocabulary.
- Conduct age-appropriate experiments, investigations, and demonstrations following safety guidelines.
- Encourage curiosity, questioning, observation, and simple scientific reasoning.
- Use differentiated teaching strategies to support diverse learning needs.
- Integrate real-life connections, environmental awareness, and cross-curricular links.
- Maintain a positive, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment.
Assessment & Reporting
- Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with Cambridge Primary assessment standards.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, practical work, and learning evidence.
- Provide clear and constructive feedback to support student progress.
- Prepare academic reports and actively participate in Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs).
Student Support & Well-being
- Identify individual learning needs and provide appropriate academic support or enrichment.
- Support students’ confidence, curiosity, and enthusiasm for Science.
- Ensure student safety, well-being, and positive behavior at all times.
- Strictly adhere to child safeguarding, health, and safety policies.
Professional Responsibilities
- Participate in curriculum planning, moderation, and review meetings.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary projects, science fairs, exhibitions, and school events.
- Collaborate with colleagues to support integrated and experiential learning.
- Engage in continuous professional development related to Cambridge Primary Science pedagogy.
- Follow school policies, professional standards, and the code of conduct.
Required Qualifications & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Science, Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Cambridge-trained and minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Science within the Cambridge or IB Primary curriculum.
• Prior experience in an international or English-medium school preferred.
