Job Summary

The Math Teacher – Primary Level is responsible for delivering high-quality, concept-based Mathematics instruction aligned with the Cambridge Primary Mathematics Curriculum. The role focuses on developing strong number sense, logical thinking, problem-solving skills, and mathematical confidence through engaging and age-appropriate learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and deliver engaging Mathematics lessons aligned with the Cambridge Primary Mathematics framework.
  • Develop students’ understanding of number, operations, measurement, geometry, and data handling.
  • Apply Concrete–Pictorial–Abstract (CPA) approaches to support conceptual understanding.
  • Encourage logical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical communication.
  • Use differentiated strategies to address diverse learning needs.
  • Integrate real-life applications, manipulatives, games, and technology into lessons.
  • Maintain a structured, engaging, and positive classroom environment.

Assessment & Reporting

  • Conduct formative and summative assessments in line with Cambridge Primary assessment standards.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and learning evidence.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to support student improvement.
  • Prepare academic reports and participate actively in Parent–Teacher Meetings (PTMs).

Student Support & Well-being

  • Identify learning gaps and provide remediation or enrichment as required.
  • Support students in building confidence and a positive attitude towards Mathematics.
  • Ensure student safety, well-being, and positive behavior at all times.
  • Strictly adhere to child safeguarding and school discipline policies.

Professional Responsibilities

  • Participate in curriculum planning, moderation, and review meetings.
  • Contribute to interdisciplinary projects, math weeks, exhibitions, and school events.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support integrated and experiential learning.
  • Engage in continuous professional development related to Cambridge Mathematics pedagogy.
  • Adhere to school policies, professional standards, and the code of conduct.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

• Cambridge-trained OR minimum 2–3 years of experience teaching Mathematics within the Cambridge or IB Primary curriculum.

• Experience in an international or English-medium school preferred.
